Environmental and Sustainability Policy

Last Updated: 9th August 2025

Cultivate Artists Studio CIC is dedicated to supporting clay-based artists, with a commitment to sharing knowledge on environmentally conscience best practice. We recognise our responsibility to minimise our environmental footprint and create positive change through our operations, our members, and our outreach.

To achieve this, we commit to:
• Sustainable Studio Practices: We encourage and support artists to adopt eco-friendly techniques in clay production and firing, including responsible sourcing of materials, recycling and reusing clay, and reducing energy and water consumption. We aim to reduce our consumption of natural resources, opting for renewables where possible.

• Waste Reduction & Resource Efficiency: We actively seek ways to reduce waste in our studio. Our space is equipped to facilitate clay recycling, use non-toxic cleaning products, and promote mindful use of resources.

• Knowledge Sharing: Cultivate Artists Studio CIC is committed to sharing up-to-date knowledge on sustainability, environmental best practice. Our community workshops and educational resources empower artists to make informed, sustainable choices.

• Community Collaboration: We build partnerships with local suppliers, organisations, and environmental initiatives to raise awareness, source sustainable materials, and support circular economy approaches wherever possible.

• Continuous Improvement: We regularly review and enhance our policy and practice, welcoming ideas from our members, partners, and visitors to deepen our environmental commitment. Through these actions, Cultivate Artists Studio CIC strives not only to nurture artistic growth, but also to create a creative community that develops awareness of environmental issues, encourages positive ecological change that contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.
