Come along and learn the basics of hand-building with one of our expert tutors at Cultivate Artists Studio.
These are one-off sessions where you can explore the techniques of pinch, coil or slab-building as an introduction to working with clay and a chance to experience what it is like to work at Cultivate Artists Studio. We offer small class sizes and the unique opportunity to learn directly from one of Cultivate’s artists.
Introductory Taster workshops
Whether you are a total beginner or looking to get back to clay, our introductory ceramics session is the perfect way to experience our studio before our full workshop series begins in 2027
What’s Included?
Each class will include a short demonstration from the tutor covering either pinch, coil or soft slab techniques. You will have the rest of the session to explore and make with clay and can choose one piece of work to be fired as part of the cost of your class. We will then glaze and fire the work for you and be in touch when it is ready to collect.
*If you make additional pieces you’d like to keep, these can be paid for separately as part of our community firing scheme. Additional clay costs are calculated on weight and size of your pieces.
